When you can’t hear sound, what should that sound like?

As a group of non-deaf people, the creative team wanted to give hearing people a sense of what partial deafness might be like, but present it in a respectful manner.

We employed heavily-filtered frame drum hits for any scenes we considered POV, and this created a muted soundbed for us to open out the frequencies for the narrated sequences.
